Cursive Class
This class focuses on teaching students the art of cursive writing: using the Zaner Bloser method, students will learn proper letter formation, spacing, and alignment in cursive style through structured lessons and practice exercises.
Students will use various learning modalities that include hands-on learning (through interactive tools), visual, auditory, kinesthetic (through movement), and sensory (using sand trays).
In the first, 10-week session, students will learn to:
- Position paper correctly for cursive;
- Write undercurve, downcurve, overcurve and slant strokes;
- Write with correct shape, size, spacing and slant;
- Downcurve, Lowercase Letters: a, d, g, o, c, g and qu;
- Undercurve, Lowercase Letters: i, j, p, r, s, t, u, w;
- Loop, Undercurve Letters: e, l, b, f, h, k
- Overcurve, Lowercase Letters: n, m, v, x, y, z
- Work on Letter Joinings
In the second, 10-week session, students will learn to master:
- Downcurve, Uppercase Letters: A, O, C, D, E
- Curve Forward, Uppercase Letters: N, M, H, K, Y, V, X, Z, W
- Overcurve Uppercase Letters: I, J, and Qu
- Doublecurve Uppercase Letters: T and F
- Undercurve, Loop letters S, G, L
- Undercurve, Slant letters P, R,B
- Work on writing words and sentences
